Women of Virtue Ministry

History
June 21, 2003 marks the beginning of the Women of Virtue Ministry, at New Life In Christ Interdenominational Church. Founded by our pastor, Bishop-Elect G (Geoff) Vincient Dudley, Sr., D.Min., the ministry started under the leadership of Sis. Suzy Douglas. On this date, eighty women were in attendance at our Kickoff Luncheon, held at Four Points Sheraton Hotel. The women who assisted in making this new beginning were First Lady Glenda Dudley, Sis. Lillian Ballance, Sis. Liz Willis, Sis. Nita Ripley, Sis. Deborah Williams, Sis. Marilyn Collins, and Sis. Deborah Sims.

The theme for the kickoff luncheon, "OH MAGNIFY THE LORD WITH ME, AND LET US EXALT HIS NAME TOGETHER." Psalm 34:3 revealed that God wanted the women to learn to magnify Him more than their situations and circumstances. It was here that God’s vision for the ministry was given. Bishop-Elect Dudley shared with the Women of Virtue on that day that he was depending on us to help birth the church. There was a urgent sensing to be apart of the delivery. Everyone knew it was God who called NLC into the O’Fallon and surrounding area for such a time as this. So not only was Women of Virtue birthed that day but began laboring for the vision of NLC to become a reality and fulfill its potential.

Statement of Purpose
The purpose of the women’s ministry is to allow God to REACH us, by Revealing, Embracing, Accepting, Changing, and being Healed. As we yield to Him reaching into us, and healing us from the inside out, we can reach out to others and bring wholeness to the body.

Objectives
In order to fulfill the purpose in which God has given the women here at NLC, we must identify our assignment. Knowing your assignment produces your uniqueness.

  • We will be a group of women who genuinely love one another
  • We will strive to develop our godly character and conduct
  • We will be a standard that would uplift Christ in the church and in the world
  • We will enable women to deepen their faith and experience spiritual growth and renewal
  • We will help rebuild the walls of womanhood that have been torn down through generations
  • We will help women see their worth by virtue of their creator
  • We will recognize, encourage and enhance individual talents and gifts
  • We will encourage women to discover, develop, and use their spiritual gifts
