Ushers Ministry
Ministry of Help
"But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way."
1 Corinthians 14:40
Who Are We?
New Life in Christ Interdenominational Church (NLC) Usher’s ministry was organized in 2001, immediately after the birth of the Church, under the leadership of Brothers John McCants and John Beck. The number of ushers grew from serving during initial Bible Studies on Saturdays to two Sunday morning worship services at our temporary facility. Eleven ushers are required for each worship service and we currently have four teams.
Our Purpose
To be "Keepers of the Door," cheerfully serve the congregation, and help set the spiritual tone and readiness for learning and worshipping during the service by greeting, seating, taking offering, and attending to special needs of the people.
- Ensure proper seating arrangement of the worship facility
- Seat parishioners at the proper time as they arrive
- Provide support to the Pastor and Ministers
- Maintain order during the service
Requirements/Qualifications
Ushers must be of good moral character, willing to serve, neat in appearance and dress, with a positive attitude and ability to meet, greet, and make worshippers feel welcome to the service. Ushers must be tithing members of NLC, committed to the vision, and involved in other church activities/programs to further their knowledge and understanding of God’s word.
