Music Ministry
Who Are We?
- Ministers of Worship (MoW) (praise and worship team)
- Adult Choir (Men/Women Age 18+)
- Men of Valor Ensemble (Men Age 18+)
- Singles of Standard Worship Ensemble (Single & Age 19+)
- Nu Life Crew (choir/praise team – grades 7-12)
- Kingdom Kidz (choir – age 3 to grade 5)
Purpose
The purpose of the New Life In Christ Interdenominational Church (NLC) music ministry is twofold:
- We will worship, serve, and glorify the LORD through songs of praise and thanksgiving (Psalm 150).
- We will usher the congregation into the presence of the LORD through singing (Psalm 100:2).
Objectives
- To lead the congregation in singing praises to GOD that HE may be worshiped as KING OF KINGS and LORD OF LORDS and that HE may dwell among HIS congregation (Psalm 22:3).
- To sing to one another and to GOD with diverse forms of Christian music to include psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs for the purpose of a vibrant praise and worship experience that makes all the other areas of worship (scripture reading, prayer, preaching) a HOLY SPIRIT driven experience (Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16, James 5:13).
Regular Events:
- 1st and 3rd Sundays - MoW 8am Service; Adult Choir @ 11am Svc
- 2nd Sunday - Men of Valor Ensemble - Both Services
- 4th Sunday - Singles of Standard Ensemble - Both Services
- 5th Sunday - Youth Sunday - Kingdom Kidz & NU Life Crew
Key Events:
- MoW and Adult Choir accompany Outreach Ministry bi-monthly to sing at a nursing home and quarterly at a prison.
- Kingdom Kidz accompany Outreach Ministry to sing at least twice a year at a nursing home.
- All music ministries sing Christmas Carols at a nursing home and a hospital.
How do I join the Music Ministry / Classes
- An application, audition and interview with Minister of Music is required of all prospective singers and musicians for MoW, Men’s Choir and Adult Choir.
- Regular time is given to teaching of praise and worship as a lifestyle during MoW and Adult Choir rehearsals.
- Music workshops, seminars, and conventions are attended as they become available.
Rehearsals
- MoW: Tuesdays 6:50-7:45
- Men’s Choir: Tuesdays 6:00-6:45
- Musicians Rehearsal: Tuesdays 6pm-7pm
- Adult Choir: Tuesdays 7:00-9:00
- Singles of Standard Worship Ensemble: Saturdays 9:30a-11am
- Kingdom Kidz: Wednesdays 6:30pm
- Nu Life Crew: Thursdays 6:00-7:00
